The Making of our Bean Bag Collection

While they come in attractive colours and special features, our GAME OVER collection was not only designed for comfort but to add that "wow" factor for a specific audience. Here's a look on how we developed our gaming bean bag collection.

Consumers spent approximately £5.11 billion on games in 2017, rising up to 12.4% from the previous year. The game industry is booming… but we thought something was needed:

Something for gamers to sit on.

Water-resistant fabric? Nice!

Let’s be real. Gamers need something that’s easy to maintain. While the game is so intense and your adrenaline is running high, accidents may happen. Drink spills, crumbs from your crisps, sweat, oily fingerprints from your takeaway… it’s okay. We’ve already figured it out. With a material that’s water-resistant, that means that liquid doesn’t automatically seep through and so you’ll have plenty of time to get rid of any wet patches and stains with a simple damp cloth.

Different coloured piping:

Black is a great colour that made the design stand out better. We’ve added different piping colours around the edge of each item to really make it stand out. All the colours we’ve chosen are bright: ranging from yellow, orange, green, pink, blue and more! There’s a colour for every gamer. It couldn’t get any more epic.

What gives it the “wow factor”?

The bean bags provides a place to store away your drinks, snacks, or controller pads - anything you want to put away. Each bean bag and lounger has one big pocket, with the choice of having two parts using the Velcro divider. It's suitable to fit a standard sized controller pad and you can even stash a few snacks when you're feeling peckish.

Even the foot stool has a pocket. We really don’t want you leave your room. Why not when you’ve got everything you need in one area? Pop a magazine/your iPad in the pocket of your foot stool when you’re not using it. Then pop your feet up when it’s time to Netflix and chill. Don’t forget to hang your headset on your bean bag when you’re done!

 A whole collection? Bring me in!

Designing just one bean bag chair is too mainstream. We wanted to add a few items that would make the collection as awesome as possible. There are two types of gamers – one who is competitive and needs back support (Perfect for our bean bag chair) and the casual gamers, who likes to play less-intense games but still wants a good seat for some movies and Netflix – that’s where the lounger comes in. Throw in the foot stool for ultimate relaxation. And then some cushions. We couldn’t help ourselves!

Test, Test and Test again:

It took a lot of work to make sure our bean bag collection was just right. We’ve tested the colours (even making the green piping a little brighter) to make it consistent with the other colours. The shape of the bean bag lounger had to be perfect, with the right amount of filling that’ll fit right with anyone’s posture. There is a zip at the bottom of each item where the fillings are kept.
